Industry Surge Analysis Process
Performance - Intent/Outcome

We perform Industrial and Surge Capability Assessments because strengthening of the Industrial Base is a high Departmental priority.  The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology, Logistics, OUSD AT&L) recognizes that the DCMA Industrial Analysis Center and the CMOs have critical insight relative to the industrial base. CMOs quick and accurate responsiveness to the DCMA Industrial Analysis Center information requests are critical to the Agency and to all members of its customer base.  DCMA Industrial Analysis Process customer base consists of, but is not limited to, OSD-DUSD-IP, Warfighters - Joint Staff, Combatant Commanders; Military Services, Defense Agencies, Academia and others throughout the Department.

The focus for the activities conducted during execution of this process is to ensure that the DoD acquisition, technology, readiness and logistics communities receive information that will allow them to understand the industrial base implications of their acquisition and R&D investment strategies.  This in turn will ensure the availability of reliable, flexible, innovative and responsive industrial capabilities necessary to meet national security needs in peacetime and wartime (surge) while promoting vigorous competition in defense markets.
